The MSA-LCCD comparison flash-movie has improved
BioModel proposed and updated the first comparison flash-movie ‘MSA and LCCD’ (800×600 pixels) for the educational purposes. More details. Author: G.Kolomytsev (ULRMC).

Mean species abundance chart by Oblasts of Ukraine Highest MSA value – 61,95% in Zakarpatska obl. Lowest – 22,85% in Donetska obl.
Final Mean Species Abundance map of the remaining biodiversity in Ukraine (2000): Mean MSA value – 32.4% (0,324407296).Revised methodology was applied (by GIS modular with combined LU classes application; https://biomodel.info/?p=103). Final map image looks very similar to Landuse MSA. Obviously landuse is the dominant pressure causing the biodiversity loss process.
LU MSA map (new version) During the ‘GIS modular’ manual compilation new LU MSA (biodiversity loss from land use; picture above) was calculated. More details available because of a new approach: https://biomodel.info/?p=103 . You can compare the new LU MSA with LU MSA from previous run (picture below). LU MSA Read more…
Different GLOBIO3 land use classes combination was applied taking into account location of agrolandscapes in different ‘nature-ag-zone’. For instance agrolandscapes within ‘Polissya’ nature-ag-zone include several LCC i.e. ‘extensive agriculture’ and ‘agro-forestry’ in equal part approximately. Logically, for the ‘Steppe zone’ it is advisable to take into account (for the modelling) Read more…
Since the bilingual book suppose to be completely acceptable as the textbook of “Landscape Ecology”, which is official University’s discipline, the composite authors decided to update the title. Instead of the “Training package on application of pressure based biodiversity modelling for national and regional educational purposes” it approximately will be Read more…
ULRMC has signed the contract with a University publishing house. The Project team will deliver the bilingual book layout ASAP (projected deadline is about February 10, 2008).
The draft of the annex has prepared: ‘Final testing question examples’ (TQs) within the Bilingual Training Package on Presssure Based Biodiversity Modelling’. The TQs examples can be useful for the such educational subjects in the regional University’s level (in Ukraine specially): ‘GIS in agroecology’, ‘Applied Ecology’, ‘Protected Areas Management’, ‘Terrestrial Read more…
